General information about Bansko
Bansko is one of the most famous winter resorts in Bulgaria. The city is an attractive place for vacation, both for Bulgarians and foreigners. Ski and snowboard enthusiasts can benefit from excellent skiing conditions during the winter months.
There are many restaurants with authentic Bulgarian cuisine, as well as bars and restaurants. A lot of the hotels in Bansko offer their guests SPA services and indoor pools.
The resort is a good holiday choice for couples, families with children, friends groups, as it offers something for everyone. Bansko is an attractive destination in the summer, but, of course, in the winter months it is most visited because of its ski zone.

Gondola lift Bansko
The gondola lift in Bansko with its length of 6233 m is the second longest passenger cableway in Bulgaria. The stations are 3 - lower, intermediate and upper.
The lower station of the lift is located at 998 m above sea level in the town of Bansko.
The intermediate station is in the area of Chalin Valog at 1468 m above sea level. Here the doors of the booths open automatically and those who wish can get on or off. The length of the lift from the lower to the intermediate station is 3318 m.
The upper station of the gondola lift is at 1595 m above sea level in the area of Banderishka Polyana (Mecha Polyana). The length of the lift from the intermediate to the upper station is 2915 m, and the total from the lower to here is 6233 m.
The absolute displacement that the lift passes through the entire route is 597 m.
The journey from the lower to the upper station of the lift takes about 25 minutes.
The capacity of the gondola lift is 2000 people per hour. Each cabin has a capacity of 8 people or 640 kg.
